As a Lead Dev - Data Platform Engineer you will lead the technical vision for data platforms. You define reference architectures and coordinate multiple projects. You ensure consistency in development standards. Advises customers on digitalization, conducts risk and compliance assessments and promotes data democratization.
Tasks & responsibilities
You represent the company as an expert for data platforms at conferences or in communities and take on the technical leadership for data engineering teams and projects. Together with our customers, you define the technical vision and strategy for the data platform as part of a Data & Agentic Platform solution. You will design scalable reference architectures for Data & Agentic Platform solutions on Azure and manage their implementation. You coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and ensure consistency in architecture and development standards. You conduct reviews of the architecture and implemented solutions to maintain quality standards. You are part of our pre-sales and consulting activities and identify customer needs and develop suitable solutions. You are a mentor and contribute to the further development of the team through coaching and knowledge transfer.
Job requirements
7+ years of experience in building data platforms and pipelines, including several years in leadership/architectural roles
Expert knowledge in Data & AI architectures (esp. Azure Data & AI Services) and in the integration of various data sources and formats
Ability to take a holistic view of system landscapes and make architectural decisions with regard to scalability, security and maintainability
Experienced in project management and stakeholder management
Leadership & building trust: Leading multidisciplinary teams, creating an open, trust-based culture; you know when to intervene and when to delegate
Change management & cultural sensitivity: dealing with changes in projects, coordinating international teams and adapting to cultural differences
Language skills: Business fluent in German and English
