As Lead Data Platform Engineer, you define the technical vision and strategy for data-driven platforms on Azure. You coordinate multiple projects, develop reference architectures, and ensure governance, compliance, and sustainability. With your expertise, you help ensure that our solutions provide the best foundation for AI and analytics initiatives.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of the lakehouse strategy: Defining standards, roadmaps, and best practices for Fabric, Delta Lake, mirroring, and Unity Catalog

  • Cross-project technical management: Harmonizing architectures, managing resources, monitoring quality standards and costs

  • Evaluating innovative Azure features (LakeFlow, AI-powered pipeline designers, Fabric integrations) for productive use

  • Conducting risk and compliance assessments; responsibility for data protection, security, and governance

  • Leading and coaching teams; building a learning-oriented culture

  • Active participation in pre-sales and strategic consulting; presenting solutions to C-level stakeholders

Job requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering and cloud data platform architecture; proven leadership experience

  • Expert knowledge of lakehouse architectures, mirroring, Delta Lake, fabric, and governance

  • Strategic thinking, change management, and stakeholder management

  • Fluent German and very good English skills; outstanding communication and presentation skills
